Opened in December 2008 as the sister tower to Wynn Las Vegas, Encore is a 2,034-room luxury resort with a jewel-box 72,000-square-foot casino that, unusually for Las Vegas, lets daylight in, plus a direct indoor connection to the Wynn poker room and sportsbook.

The hotel 9.1
Suites
Encore describes its rooms as suites, and at around 700 square feet for entry-level layouts at opening they are among the most spacious standard rooms on the Strip. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a separate sitting area, excellent beds and marble bathrooms set the tone. The resort was refreshed in 2015 and again as part of a broader renovation program announced in 2021.
The 48-story tower famously skips floor numbers containing a four, a nod to superstitions common among gamblers, so the top floor is labeled 63. Tower Suites have a private entrance and pool, adding a further layer of privacy.
Dining
Encore’s restaurants include an Italian dining room that pays tribute to a celebrated crooner, a lively Mexican restaurant, and pan-Asian and steakhouse options, with the adjoining Wynn adding more fine dining. The standard is high across the board and service in the dining rooms is exceptional, though prices are among the highest on the Strip.
Spa & pool
The spa is one of the most beautiful in Las Vegas, with gold and jade tones, a serene circuit of pools and steam rooms and a meticulous treatment program. The main pool is elegant and quieter than most, while the beach club turns into a major party venue in season. Guests who want calm should favor weekdays.
Service
Service is where Encore pulls clear of the field. Staff are attentive without hovering, problems are fixed quickly, and there is a consistency to the experience, from valet to housekeeping to casino hosts, that other resorts struggle to match. That consistency earns the highest service sub-score in this guide.
Location
Encore sits on the north Strip at the corner of Sands Avenue, with The Venetian and Palazzo across the road and the center Strip a longer walk or a short ride south. That remove is a benefit for guests seeking calm and a drawback for casino hoppers, and it costs Encore points in our location category.

The most beautiful and best-serviced casino on this list, with superb high-limit rooms. Its compact size and reliance on the adjoining Wynn for poker and sports betting keep it from a clean sweep.
The casino floor
Encore’s 72,000-square-foot casino is small by Strip standards, and that is part of its charm. Tall windows let natural light fall across the tables, red and gold tones, butterfly motifs and lanterns soften the room, and the layout is intimate and easy to read. It is one of the few casino floors in Las Vegas where a daytime session does not feel like being sealed in a box.
The floor is immaculately kept, and ventilation is strong. If there is a criticism, it is that the room can feel exclusive to the point of being intimidating for casual players.
Games & table limits
The table mix focuses on blackjack, baccarat, craps and roulette, with pai gow and carnival games represented. Slots and video poker are present in good variety but not vast numbers. Minimums are among the highest in Las Vegas, especially after dark, and lower-limit tables are scarce at peak times. The connected Wynn casino roughly doubles the number of games within an indoor walk.
Poker & sportsbook
Encore does not host its own poker room or main sportsbook; both are in the adjoining Wynn Las Vegas, reached indoors in a few minutes. The Wynn poker room is well regarded for its comfortable tables and tournament series, and the Wynn race and sportsbook is spacious and modern. Because they sit next door rather than inside Encore, this sub-score is lower than ARIA’s or The Venetian’s.
High-limit salons
High-limit salons at Encore are superb: quiet, elegant rooms for baccarat and blackjack at elevated limits, with dedicated service and a level of discretion expected by international players. High-denomination slot areas are equally well appointed. This is the strongest high-limit offering among our five properties.
Rules & player protection
Rules are clearly posted and dealers are well trained. Check the blackjack payout and whether the dealer stands on soft 17, and ask about the craps odds multiple. Wynn Rewards tracks play across Wynn and Encore, and the operator displays responsible-gaming information and helplines on the floor.
According to the resort, smoking is allowed on the casino floor, on patios and on designated hotel floors at the time of writing, so non-smokers should ask about well-ventilated areas.

Encore is the most polished hotel on the Strip and its casino floor is a pleasure to spend time in. It is not cheap and it is not central, but for a refined, adults-first casino stay it sets the standard.
