Responsible Gambling
Every casino game carries a house edge, which means that over time the casino expects to win. Gambling should only ever be paid-for entertainment, and help is available 24 hours a day.
Get help now
If gambling is causing you or someone close to you harm, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER for free, confidential support, available around the clock. The National Council on Problem Gambling (ncpgambling.org) offers a national helpline network, online chat and resources for families.
In Nevada, casinos display helpline information near cashier cages and ATMs, and staff can explain how to request limits or exclusion from play and marketing at that property.
Practical limits
Decide on a gambling budget before you arrive in Las Vegas, treat it as money already spent, and stop when it is gone. Set a time limit, take regular breaks away from the casino floor, and avoid gambling when tired, stressed or drinking. Never borrow money, use credit or return to an ATM to chase losses.
Remember that rewards-program tiers, comps and free play are designed to encourage more play. They are never worth gambling more than you planned.
Warning signs
Gambling may be becoming a problem if you spend more time or money than you intended, feel the need to gamble with larger amounts, hide gambling from people close to you, feel restless or irritable when trying to cut back, or gamble to escape problems or win back losses.
Adults only
The legal gambling age in Nevada is 21. Underage visitors may walk through casinos to reach other areas but may not gamble or linger in gaming areas. Our site is written for adults aged 21 and over.
